Welcome
to Our Photo Album
It was a gusty
day but no one seemed to mind as Amanda Lestor and Dan Belknap exchanged their
wedding vows in the lovely historic Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover,
Illinois. Amanda's grandfather served as pastor of the church in the
seventies and her parents were married there so it was the perfect place for
Amanda and John. In spite of a few threatening clouds and a raindrop or
two, the sun was bright and reflected the happiness of friends, family and
wedding party.
Who
could ask for a more picturesque church than Augustana Lutheran?
This "new" church, built in 1887 by Swedish immigrants replaced
the "old" church, preserved as the "Jenny Lind Chapel"
just a block away. |
The
lovely architecture and appointments of this historical building lent an
air of warmth and intimacy to the wedding ceremony.
|
The
colors of the day were a light apple green and hot pink, as exemplified
by this unity candle arrangement created by Staacks Florist.
Matching wreaths that also included green hydrangea were hung from
either side of the massive front doors of the church. |
The unity candle
arrangement did a fine job of working double duty as the centerpiece for
the head table, here with a garland of greenery. |
|
Staacks
Florist never disappoints. These dramatic centerpieces of hot pink
gerbera daisies, green spider mums, pink snap dragons and white stock
carried the theme of the day beautifully. With their vibrant
color, they're just fun to look at!

 This
great cake was actually created by a friend who only makes them for
family and friends. Too bad because she did a beautiful job as you
can see.
|
 The
reception was held at the Radisson Quad-City Plaza which is sporting new
carpet, wallpaper and a brand new dance floor. The service is
always excellent at this venue and they did a superb job of meeting the
needs of almost 400 guests and creating room for both the DJ and Gray
Wolf, the band that kept the dance floor full all night. We always
enjoy working with the staff of this facility.

With over 500
invitees, keeping track of the responses is always a challenge.
Amanda and her family took advantage of Exceptional Events' R.S.V.P.
Service, which includes helping to create the seating plan and
production of place cards. In addition to a detailed room layout,
we also provided an alphabetical guest list showing all table
assignments as well as a table listing showing all guests assigned to
each table in order to have ready answers just in case there were any
questions.
