Who's Who at Exceptional Events?

Meet Jim Terrey

For a quiet kind of guy, co-owner Jim Terrey leaves a big impression in all that he does.  He multi-tasks as engineer, wedding assistant, prop-builder, wedding officiant and all-around magician.  Jim has decades of experience making sure weddings and events come off smoothly.  When the sound isn't working or there are other mechanical problems, it's Jim who comes to the rescue.  Wedding ushers depend on him to guide them in their duties.  And, whether it's a wedding or corporate event, it's Jim who makes many of our wilder design ideas become a reality.

When we learned of a wedding in which the officiant was MIA, we decided we couldn't let that happen to any of our brides.  Jim is ordained by a non-denominational church and can perform wedding ceremonies in both Illinois and Iowa.  In fact, since becoming ordained, he has been honored to perform a number of them, including a bi-lingual ceremony complete with Hispanic cultural traditions.

Jim is a retired Spanish teacher with masters degrees in Spanish and international business.  He was in Special Forces, while in the military, and used his language skills while stationed in Panama after spending time at the Army's language school in Monterey, California.  He later taught high school Spanish while living in California.  He loves nothing more than spending time building something in his workshop or squeezing just one more plant into his garden.
